Originally raised in New York, New Jersey, and Florida, Kelly moved from Miami to Los Angeles, where she supervised spectacular projects and ran her husband’s busy film business, as well. Kelly comes from a family of real estate developers and has been a licensed realtor since 2009. Kelly met husband, Chett Spinney while both were working in the film industry. Chett is a successful business owner in Asheville. Their daughter, Chandler, is at NC State, studying International Political Science and Chinese. Their family left their hectic life in Los Angeles for a move to Asheville in 2007 and has never looked back!
BROKER | OWNER Troy Winterrowd’s vision initiated his career designing theme park attractions for Walt Disney Imagineering, flushing out multi-million dollar entertainment projects himself. With stints in leadership at icons like Universal Studios, Hallmark and Sony; Troy’s big picture perspective enables him to flush out the ideal environments for the new homeowner, established builder or real estate investor.
Troy began his career in real estate in 2008 before partnering with Kelly in 2014. Even though Troy loves everything modern, he knows the diverse architectural neighborhoods of Asheville, from the historic classics in North Asheville to the funky bungalows in the west and the mid-century, ranch homes of the south. When Troy looks at properties, he visually edits them down to their simplest lines, allowing room for the inhabitant to imagine a functional and freeing expression of the lifestyle they hope to create.
Known as the “Mod Man” across the Carolinas, Troy and Modern Asheville have been featured in WNC Magazine, North Carolina Home & Garden, and AshevilleGrit as a contributing blogger. Troy has a BA in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati and is a member of the Asheville Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He often begins his workday with a hot yoga class and the weekend with a hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
BUYER SPECIALIST Matt Allen's years of experience as an attorney provide him with valuable insight and experience in negotiating the best possible outcome for his clients, including recognizing and understanding the niceties of legal and contractual aspects in real estate transactions. Matt first cultivated an interest in real estate while working as a summer intern at the Utah Association of Realtors, where he assisted in-house counsel with legal research on various real estate issues. At law school, Matt received the Outstanding Property Law Student Award for his graduating class, which was given to the student who received the highest grades in real estate and property law courses. After practicing law for two years in New York City and Long Island, Matt followed the girl of his dreams to Asheville in summer 2014 after she accepted a job offer as a clinical psychologist at a private outpatient practice. Within real estate, Matt has a particular focus working with buyers, and he prides himself on thoroughly understanding the process from start to finish, which he in turn imparts to his clients, giving them peace of mind that the transition into their new home will be a comfortable one. Matt tirelessly works to find the best possible homes for his buyer clients.
In addition to being an avid movie buff, Matt enjoys reading, cooking, and playing tennis and the piano in his spare time. Matt also spent two years living in Japan in his early 20’s, and he still speaks the language conversationally.
